Transport is the fastest growing contributor to CO2 emissions in Europe. It is estimated that road transport makes up around 25% of the man-made CO2 emissions. The energy use in transport could be reduced by 22% by year 2020. An example is the plan of Nokia Corporation to cut th their fleet of 24 000 trucks by half by using "smart freight" ICT solutions. |
