ICTAC/evitherm collaboration
Back

ICTAC, the International Confederation for Thermal Analysis and Calorimetry, federates 26 national or regional associations with the main objective of promoting international understanding and cooperation in the fields of thermal analysis and calorimetry. Evitherm, which also aims to have an international audience and to help scientists and engineers in topics connected at least in part with the above techniques, is therefore well in line with the goals of ICTAC. This is why, at the last ICTAC Congress in Sardinia (September 2004), a workshop was organised to present the evitherm project and an ICTAC Task Group was set up to ensure a continuing collaboration between ICTAC and evitherm.

This page is dedicated to those ICTAC members and their laboratories who are willing to contribute to the development of the evitherm website for the benefit of the worldwide thermal analysis and calorimetry community. The main goal is to create a network of contacts and to facilitate the exchange of information and data.

"Via its website evitherm helps to promote international understanding and cooperation in the field of thermal analysis, the goal set 40 years ago by the founders of ICTAC and extended in 1992 to calorimetry. This is why ICTAC morally supports evitherm, in particular through the ICTAC-evitherm Task Group, and wishes it a successful future." - Jean Rouquerol.

Jean ROUQUEROL, ICTAC President (2000-6)

As a step towards this goal, below are listed some ways of interacting and providing information, data and other resources:

Training
E-learning
Testing
Consulting
Data

Training

Training is one of the most important challenges for promotion and education in the field of thermal analysis and calorimetry. A short list of training courses is given in the pages within the Thermal Analysis and Calorimetry section. More can be obtained through the website search engine (see left-hand menu).

For a good worldwide coverage, with courses in different languages, you are invited to enter your own offer as a training centre or as a training provider for FREE on this website. Firstly, register using the Signup button at top left of this page and log in. Enter information on your centre and your expertise in New Contact, then your training course(s) in New Event.

E-learning

E-learning is a modern and convenient way to teach the practice of thermal analysis and calorimetry worldwide. A short list of e-learning resources is given in the pages within the Thermal Analysis and Calorimetry section. The course of Professor Wunderlich on Thermal characterisation of polymeric materials is also available from within the Thermal Analysis and Calorimetry section.

If you are producing e-learning courses and willing to promote and offer them through the evitherm website for FREE, f irstly register using the Signup at top left of this page and log in. Enter information on your faculty or company and the description of the e-learning offer in New Contact.

Testing

In the Thermal Analysis and Calorimety section there is a first short list of testing laboratories (see Measurement services). More can be obtained through the website search engine (see left-hand menu).

If you are willing to promote your testing facility for FREE f irstly register using the Signup button at top left of this page and log in. Enter information on your testing laboratory in New Contact, then the description of the testing offer with the different available thermal analysis and calorimetric techniques in New Measurement.

Consulting

If you are consulting in the field of thermal analysis and calorimetry as an independent consultant or from a laboratory, and willing to reach companies looking for such consulting, f irstly register using the Signup button at top left of this page and log in. Enter information on your consulting company or laboratory and the description of the consulting offered for the relevant thermal analysis and calorimetric techniques, in New Contact.

Data

You can also provide data to share with other users of the evitherm website. For such an operation, use the evitherm input data mask and send the data file to the evitherm editor. The data will be reviewed and, if accepted, entered into the evitherm database.
